Just went for lunch, I had a very tasty Lamb Shank, they also have a nice dessert menu. Staff are always friendly with good service and they have sensible opening hours unlike some in the area. I recommend this pub for lunchtime food.
Welcoming landlord and landlady and their staff generate a very pleasant convivial atmosphere. Standard decent Sunday lunches in a landmark traditional Shropshire pub. Ideal for walkers in this iconic country setting.
A lovely inn that I can't wait to visit again. The staff were such lovely people and were really supportive and helpful when we needed help searching for our missing dog. (Who thankfully we found). It was touching how kind they were about this.
The drinks were really well priced, which was a nice surprise. Get yourself a bottle of Damson liqueur, a beautiful drink to take home with some lemonade.
Food was cooked with love.
In all a very lovely establishment, and you can tell the place is founded on a love for their work, as we felt part of the community from the moment we stepped through the doors.
Four of us,plus dogs, came for lunch ... Service was good, as was the delicious meal (main and pud), plus the added benefit of glorious sunshine and views .. what a treat. We have been several times before .. never disappointed. New toilet block cannot fault! Thanks.

What an experience! We recently visited your pub on a stormy evening. We had been traversing wild lands and stone circles. The rain was coming down and we needed shelter and food!
Upon arrival we were shown to the upstairs dining area as we had our dogs with us…as we ascended we couldn’t help noticing the carpet underfoot - a tapestry of vibrant colours!
Our attention then fell on the gigantic antique mirror…superb.
What next? The ornate china displayed on the shelves! A real talking point.
Then, a true marvel, the LED strip light..an interesting choice.
But what truly captivated us were the walls! It took us a while before we noticed the crystals of various sizes and hues embedded in the walls..an inspired idea to say the least.

An evening to remember for sure..and amongst it all, the staff were superb. Very friendly and attentive.
Open fire on a cold day brings a proper pub experience. Good atmosphere and a reasonably priced Sunday roast .
Staff were welcoming
We recently celebrated a 70th birthday there and had first class treatment. Staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was exellent, piping hot and the lamb shanks ( and we had a few!) were delicious and all plates cleared. Many thanks to Phil and all the staff you gave us a wonderful evening.x
